SNAX LITE

Official legacy game guide, controls reference, gameplay tips, and original release information.

GAME OVERVIEW

Release Date: February 20, 2009
Platform: Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Indie Games)
Developer: Phased Games
Genre: Cooking Arcade / Puzzle
Modes: Regular Mode (6 Levels) / 80-Minute Marathon Mode

Snax Lite (Cooking Arcade) puts players in charge of a fast-moving barbecue grill where customers constantly request food and every second counts. The goal is to prepare and serve the correct food before time runs out, while keeping up with changing customer preferences, managing the grill space, and reacting quickly to new requests.

The original release was developed under Phased Games, a studio co-owned by EPX Games founder Emanouel Pontikakis. As a legacy release in his development history, Snax Lite remains an early example of arcade-style gameplay built around speed, recognition, and simple pick-up-and-play action.

PLAYER GUIDE

Snax Lite presents the information you need directly on the gameplay screen. Keep an eye on the current level, remaining time, active customer requests, the food currently available on the grill, and the next items entering play.

The key is to avoid tunnel vision. Do not focus on only one part of the screen for too long. Scan the customer requests, then the grill, then the upcoming items so you are already thinking about your next move.

WARNING / SCORING

Customer likes and dislikes change every 30 seconds. Foods marked with a check mark are worth more points, while serving the wrong foods or ignoring the current preference can cost you more heavily. Burnt food can also clog valuable grill space and reduce your ability to respond quickly.

Quick Player Tips

  • Scan the whole screen instead of staring at one area.
  • Watch for customer preference changes every 30 seconds.
  • Learn the food items visually so you can react faster.
  • Do not let burnt food fill the grill.
  • Use Regular Mode to learn the basics before attempting Marathon Mode.

FEATURES

  • Arcade-style cooking gameplay built around speed and recognition.
  • 6 regular levels of progressively demanding play.
  • A full 80-Minute Marathon Mode for endurance-focused players.
  • Fast customer-order matching with changing likes and dislikes.
  • Simple Xbox 360 controls with on-screen button prompts.
  • Multiple food states that affect scoring and grill management.

HOW TO PLAY

Replace the placeholders below with original Snax Lite tutorial images, gameplay screens, and instruction graphics. The sections are laid out to match the EPX guide format used for other legacy titles.

SCREEN OVERVIEW

Current level, remaining time, customer requests, the food available on the grill, and upcoming items all appear on screen. Learning to quickly read this information is one of the most important skills in Snax Lite.

CONTROLS

Move around the grill using either analog stick or the digital pad. To place food onto a grill spot, press either trigger. To serve food to a customer, press the corresponding face button shown on screen: A, B, X, or Y.

CUSTOMER PREFERENCES & SCORING

Customer likes and dislikes rotate every 30 seconds. Food with a check mark is worth more points, while serving the wrong food can result in larger point loss. Watching these changes carefully helps you maximize your score and avoid unnecessary penalties.

COOKING STAGES

Food moves through four cooking stages: Raw (Yellow), Cooked (Green), Overcooked (Red), and Burnt (Grey). Burnt items remain on the grill, take up space, and can quickly create problems if not managed properly.

REGULAR MODE — 6 LEVELS

In the main game, you progress through 6 levels. Each level requires you to reach a target score before time runs out. As the game advances, the pace increases and mistakes become more costly, so accuracy and quick decision-making both matter.

MARATHON MODE

Marathon Mode is very different from the normal game. To clear it, you must survive until the 80:00 minute mark.

Every 5 minutes, an empty grill spot turns burnt. This happens three times, meaning you can eventually be reduced to only one free grill slot. If the final grill spot becomes burnt, the game is over.

Caution: if you do not feed any customers every 5 minutes, the game will also end. Marathon Mode is designed as a true endurance challenge, so staying consistent matters more than rushing.
